I am a software engineer and technical consultant based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Since 2019, I have worked across mobile applications, backend systems, web platforms, cloud infrastructure and systems integration.

Experience

Consultant, Daemon — Dec 2023–present. Embedded in UK client engineering teams across retail, fintech and insurance. Work includes Go services for Just Walk Out integrations, .NET case-management workflows at AJ Bell, and TypeScript services on AWS Lambda at Domestic & General.

Software Engineer, Codeo — Mar 2019–Dec 2023. Worked on Yumbi/Famous Brands and Spar platforms across React Native, Vue, AngularJS and .NET, including Android releases, back-office systems and backend workflows.

Open source & community

I publish and maintain Slim Launcher, an open-source Kotlin Android app with 100K+ downloads, a 4.0 rating and 1.61K Google Play reviews. Its GitHub repository has 351 stars and 128 forks; my other public projects are on GitHub.

I co-host ZATechRadio, a podcast and community about entering, remaining in and thriving in South African technology.

I also speak and contribute beyond client delivery. Past topics include Vue, Nuxt, Nitro and Slidev, and I have supported community conversations around cloud development, mobile architecture and engineering careers.

Away from software, I enjoy family time, cooking, grilling and mixology.
